1/4 cup red onions, diced
2 cup spinach, shredded
1 cup radish, sliced

The History of Recipes
It is quite possible to trace the history of recipes far back into the distant past, in fact as far back into history as the ancient Egyptians, and maybe even further. Interesting though that is, sadly, these ancient recipes were just basic hieroglyphic recipes for meal preparation.
During Roman times 25BC a roman called Apicius created a few scripts showing how to cook the recipes enjoyed by the Romans. In his scrolls, he describes how the meals were separated into hors d`oeuvre, main meal and afters, a style of dining still practiced today. This early Roman chef tells us how the Roman cooks used many different herbs and spices, including some familiar names for example bay, mint and asafoetida. During the succeeding few centuries, the families of Europe strove to serve up the most exotic banquets, and as a result chefs and their recipe collections increased in prestige. However, it wasn`t until the 19th century that cooking and recipe collections reached a high level of popularity. The Famous Mrs Beeton in the UK, and the equally well-known Fannie Farmer in the US, dedicated their lives to assembling, verifying, and writing down recipes of the day. The arrival of TV brings us cooking programs and the demand for the spin-off recipe books. Which pretty much brings us up to date and the invention of the internet, permitting us all to access thousands of recipes like the ones you can find on this web site. |
We hope you enjoy this Apples & Celeriac W Honey Mustard Dressing recipe.
