1 package instant lemon pudding (sm)
3/4 cup coconut
1 1/4 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
FROSTING
1 box creamy frosting mix
2 boxes confectioners' sugar
1 cup shortening
1 cup milk
Directions
Mix in a 13 x 9 ungreased pan with a fork. Bake at
350 for 35-40 min.

The History of Recipes
We are able to track the history of meal recipes way back into the far past, in fact as far back as the ancient Egyptians, and maybe even further. Interesting though that maybe, in the main part, these old recipes were just very basic pictorial recipes for meal preparation.
As we move on, we have some interesting books which date from the 1300s - one book entitled `Forme of Cury`, and another titled `Curye on Inglish`. Although the titles sound familiar, these are not about the indian food that we all know today, but instead descriptions of the types of meals on the tables of the rich people of the time. By the time we get to the 1900s, cooking books are greatly in demand mostly due to more people being able to read, leisure time and being a little richer. |
