Lemon Crackers Recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
2 tbsp bakers ammonia
1 tsp oil of lemon
2 each eggs
2 tbsp milk, new
1 pt milk, new
1 flour


Directions

Soak ammonia over night in pint of milk. Beat eggs seperately and ad
2 T. milk to yolks. Mix dough stiff and roll thin. Prick well with
fork and bake.

The History of Recipes

In the fifteenth century, people returning from the crusades brought back many new foods, spices and herbs from Arab cuisine, including basil and rosemary. These new culinary innovations was responsible for an increase in recipe publications, some of which are now in private cookery archives.

Like it or not, the introduction of television gave us celebrity chefs and the spin-off recipe books.

And that neatly brings us to the present day and the invention of computers and the internet, permitting us all to access thousands of recipes just like those on our site.
