The History of Recipes
It is possible to track the history of `recipes` far back into distant history, at least as far back into history as the ancient Egyptians, and potentially, even further back. Interesting though that is, in the main part, these ancient recipes were just primitive hieroglyphic or cunieform recipes for meal preparation.
Later, we find a couple of cookery books from the 1300s - a book published under the title `Forme of Cury`, and another titled `Curye on Inglish`. Don`t be fooled by the titles though, these are unconnected to the spicy food that appears on menues today, but instead accounts of the types of meals eaten by the rich people of that time. By the time we get to the 20th century, cook books are highly popular due to more people being able to read, leisure time and having more money to spend. |
