Lemon-Chive Vinaigrette Recipe

Ingredients


BH&G FAVORITE COUNTRY INN

1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 tbsp chives, finely snipped or green oni, on tops
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp basil, snipped or 1t dried
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 salt and pepper


Directions

Combine; let stand 30-60 mins for flavors to blend. Can be stored
refrigerated, up to 2 wks. Bring back to room temp before using.

The Famous Mrs Isabella Beeton in the UK, and the equally well-known Fannie Merritt Farmer in the USA, dedicated years of their lives to assembling, trying out, and recording recipes to help cooks of their time.

When we get to the 1900s, recipe books were highly popular mostly due to better eduction, more spare time and having more money to spend.
