Lethal Layers Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, sweet
1/2 cup sugar, dark brown
1 cup flour, all-purpose
1 cup pecan halves
2 eggs
1 cup sugar, dark brown
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 flour, additional
1 cup chocolate chips


Directions

Preheat oven to 375 F. In food processor, combine first three
ingredients with the metal blade until crumbly. This can also be done
with two knives or a pastry cutter. Pat this crust into a buttered 9"
x 13" pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool.

When crust is cool, spread pecans evenly over surface. Beat eggs with
brown sugar until thick. Add vanilla. Put salt and baking powder in
the bottom of a 1/4 cup measure; fill the rest of the measure with
flour. Stir into the egg mixture. Pour over crust. Sprinkle
chocolate chips evenly over mixture. Bake at 375 F. for 20 minutes
or until center is baked. Cool, then cut into 32 pieces.

The History of Recipes

In the 15th century, knights returning from the crusades brought back many foods, spices and herbs from the Middle-East, including spices such as rosemary and coriander. These new foods and tastes prompted a torrent in books on cookery, many of which are kept safe in private libraries.

The introduction of television brings us cooking programs and the spin-off recipe books.

Which brings us neatly to the present day and the invention of the internet, allowing everyone to access thousands of recipes like those on this site.
