The History of Recipes
We can read the history of `recipes` back into the distant past, at least as far as the Egypt of the Pharoahs, and maybe even further. However, mostly, these old cookbooks were just simple pictorial recipes for preparing food.
Later on, there are two interesting books published in the 1300s ; one book called `Forme of Cury`, and another, similary titled `Curye on Inglish`. Surprisingly, they have no connection with the spicy food that is familiar to us all today, but rather accounts of the types of food on the tables of the rich people of those days. Later on in the 1400s, the Crusaders brought back many foods and spices from the East, including spices such as parsley and basil. These new herbs and spices was responsible for an explosion in cookery books, most of which still exist in private cookery archives. The introduction of the TV brought us cooking programs and the demand for the spin-off recipe books. And that pretty much brings us to the present day and the invention of the internet, allowing everyone to access thousands of recipes just like those on sites such as the one you are reading now. |
We hope you enjoy this Lima Bean Filled Potasto Snacks recipe.
