New Orleans Whiskey Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter -- melted
1 cup sugar
1 each egg
1 1/2 oz whiskey (bourbon)


Directions

Cream the butter and sugar in a double boiler over boiling water. Add
the egg and stir rapidly, so the egg doesn't curdle. When well mixed,
allow to cool. Add whiskey.

Serve over New Orleans Bread Pudding.

In the 15th century, knights returning from the crusades brought us many foods and herbs from middle-east cuisine, including spices such as coriander, parsley, basil and rosemary. The introduction of these new culinary ideas created an explosion in books on cooking, most of which still exist in academic collections.

The arrival of TV brings us cooking programs and the recipe books that accompanied them.

And that brings us to the present day and the invention of the internet, allowing everyone to access massive numbers of recipes like those on this site.
