The History of Recipes
Academics have tracked the existance of recipes way back into ancient history, in fact as far as the ancient Egyptians, and maybe further still. However, in the main part, these ancient recipes were just very simple pictorial instructions for food preparation.
As our culinary historical trip moves on a few more years we have two books which date from the 14th Century - a cookery book called `Forme of Cury`, and another titled `Curye on Inglish`. Surprisingly, these two books are nothing to do with the indian food that is popular today, but rather recipes for the types of meals prepared for the rich people of those days. By the arrival of the 1900s, recipe books were starting to become popular mostly due to more people being able to read, people having more spare time and having more disposable income. |
We hope you enjoy this Chartreuse Cocktail 2 recipe.
