Directions
Pour all ingredients over ice in tightly covered container. Shake
until very cold. Pour into serving glass; garnish with lime slice, if
desired.

The History of Recipes
It is possible to track the history of meal recipes way back into antiquity, in fact as far back into history as the Egyptians, and maybe further still. In practice though, generally, these early cookbooks were just primitive pictorial instructions for preparing food.
Later on, in The time of the romans around 25BC a roman called Apicius compiled a few documents showing how to cook the recipes enjoyed by wealthy Romans. In his publication, Apicius recounts how the meals were separated into hors d`oeuvre, entrees and dessert, a very modern way of dining. Aspicius tells us how the Roman cooks used a good variety of spices, including a few that are still present in modern kitchens such as bay, mint and asafoetida. Later on in the 1400s, people returning from the crusades brought us a variety of foods, spices and herbs from the holy land, including rosemary and coriander. These new culinary innovations caused an outbreak in manuscripts on food, the majority of which are now in private cookery archives. The arrival of television brings us TV chefs and the spin-off recipe books. And that pretty much brings us to the present day and the invention of computers and the internet, permitting everyone to access thousands of recipes such as those found on this recipe site. |
