Mango Cream Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

1 3/4 cup mango puree ( from 4 mangos )
1 tbsp lime juice
1 cup sugar
1 3/4 cup of sour cream


Directions

Mango Cream Ice Cream

Blend mango puree, lime juice and sugar and chill. Beat smooth and
stir in sour cream. Freee in an ice-cream maker.

Makes 1 qt.

The History of Recipes

He also tells us how the chefs of Roman times used many herbs and spices, including a few that are still present in modern kitchens such as thyme, mint and parsley.

Later on in the 1400s, the Crusaders brought back many foods, spices and herbs from Arab countries, including spices like basil and rosemary. The introduction of these new foods and spices was responsible for an eruption in manuscripts on food, most of which are kept safe in private collections.

For the decades that followed, the powerful families of the West competed with each other to lay on the best banquets, and as a consequence, the best chefs and their collection of recipes could command a high salary. Nevertheless, it was during the 19th century that formal cookery and recipe books reached a high level of popularity. The Famous Mrs Isabella Beeton in the UK, and Fannie Merritt Farmer in the US, devoted their lives to collating, verifying, and recording recipes for their fellow cooks to enjoy.

By the time we get to the 20th century, recipe books are in high demand, due to more people being able to read, people having increased free time and having more money to spend.

The arrival of television brought us cooking programs and the spin-off recipe books.
