1 3/4 cup mango puree ( from 4 mangos )
1 tbsp lime juice
1 cup sugar
1 3/4 cup of sour cream

Blend mango puree, lime juice and sugar and chill. Beat smooth and
stir in sour cream. Freee in an ice-cream maker.

The History of Recipes
We are able to read the history of written recipes far back into the far past, at least as far back as the Egypt of the Pharoahs, and potentially, even further back. Having said that, in the main part, these ancient records were just very simple hieroglyphic or cunieform instructions for food preparation.
As we move on, we find two recipe books published in the fourteenth century - a cookery book published under the title `Forme of Cury`, and another titled `Curye on Inglish`. Perhaps surprisingly, they are nothing to do with the spicy food that appears on menues today, but instead accounts of the types of meals prepared by the cooks of the rich people of that period. By the advent of the 20th century, cookbooks are in great demand, as a result of more people being able to read, people having increased leisure time and having more disposable income. |
