1 lb ground beef
1 lb hot italian sausage meat
1 lb velveeta cheese
2 loaves of party rye bread (the litt, le mini-bread)
Directions
Skin the sausage (if necessary). Brown sausage and hamburger in a
large skillet. Drain fat. Over low heat, add Velveeta until it's
thoroughly melted, and stir thoroughly. Spread a small spoonful of
the mixture on each slice of the Party Rye and place on a cookie
sheet. Freeze for at least 2 hours. After that, you can remove them
from the cookie sheets and put them in a freezer bag for up to 2
weeks!
To serve, just place the frozen "pizzas" on a cookie sheet and bake
at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until hot. Serve immediately.
Makes about 40.

The History of Recipes
Historians have tracked the existance of recipes far back into the distant past, at least as far back into history as ancient Egypt, and potentially, even further back. Interesting though that maybe, these, ancient cookbooks were just very simple hieroglyphic or cunieform instructions for preparing meals.
As our culinary historical trip moves on a few more years we find a couple of interesting books which appeared in the fourteenth century : a cookery book published under the title `Forme of Cury`, and another titled `Curye on Inglish`. Although the titles sound familiar, these are nothing to do with the curry that is popular today, but instead recipes for the types of food on the tables of the wealthy. By the arrival of the 20th century, cookbooks were in great demand, mostly as a result of more people being able to read, people having increased spare time and having more money to spend. |
