Old-Fashioned Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

2 cup sugar
2/3 cup hershey's cocoa
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 cup milk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 qt light cream
1/2 pt whipping cream


Directions

In medium saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, flour and salt; stir in
milk and eggs. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until
mixture boils; boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in
vanilla, light cream and whipping cream. Refrigerate until cold.
Freeze in ice cream freezer according to manufacturer's directions.
About 2-1/2 quarts ice cream.

The History of Recipes

Later, in the 15th century, knights returning from the crusades brought us many spices and herbs from middle-east cuisine, including basil and coriander. The introduction of these new tastes led to an explosion in books on cookery, many of which are kept safe in private cookery archives.

The revolution that is television brings us TV cookery programs and the accompanying recipe books.

And that brings us to the present day and the invention of the internet, permitting everyone to access massive numbers of recipes like the ones you can find on this recipe site.
