1 cup sugar
1 tbsp vanilla
8 oz cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
8 oz cool whip
2 graham
2 can cherry pie filling
1 pie crusts
Directions
Mix sugar, vanilla and cream cheese together. Stir in sour cream,
then mix it slowly in blender. Add the Cool Whip. Spread the cheese
mixture evenly in graham pie crusts, thenspread pie filling on top.
Chill approximately 2 hours before serving.

The History of Recipes
We can follow the history of meal recipes back into history, certainly as far into history as the ancient Egyptians, and potentially, even further back. Having said that, these, early recipes were just very simple pictorial instructions for meal preparation.
In fact, the oldest recipe discovered, according to Professor Solomon Katz, is a series of ancient tablets in Sumerian describing the preparation of bread which is then used to make a drink, quite possibly a form of beer as it is recorded as having made drinkers feel blissful and exhilarated. Progressing into The time of the roman empire 25BC a man called Apicius compiled a few documents describing recipes cooked by his fellow Romans. He tells us how the roman meals were divided into hors d`oeuvres, main meal and afters, something we still use today. This early Roman chef informs us how the chefs of Roman times made use of many aromatic flavours, including some familiar names for example basil, rue and asafoetida. Later on in the 1400s, the Crusaders brought back many spices and herbs from the holy lands, including spices like rosemary and coriander. These new spices and herbs was responsible for a torrent in manuscripts on cookery, most of which still exist in private libraries. When we get to the 1900s, recipe publications are in high demand, due to better eduction, people having increased leisure time and disposable income. The arrival of TV brought us cooking programs and the spin-off recipe books. And that brings us to the present day and the invention of computers and the internet, allowing everybody to access thousands of recipes like the ones you can find on sites such as the one you are reading now. |
