The History of Recipes
We can follow the history of `recipes` back into history, in fact as far back as the ancient Egyptians, and potentially, even further back. Interesting though that maybe, these, old records were just basic pictorial recipes for meal preparation.
Later on, there are some interesting books which date from the fourteenth century ; one book titled `Forme of Cury`, and another, similary named `Curye on Inglish`. Although the titles sound familiar, these two books are unconnected to the indian food that we all know today, but rather descriptions of the types of food prepared by the chefs of the rich and wealthy people of those days. By the time we get to the 20th century, recipe publications are greatly in demand mostly due to more people being able to read, people having increased leisure time and having more money. |
