Chocolate Chunky Mighty Muffins Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup flour
1 cup bran cereal flakes
1 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
6 tbsp buttermilk powder
1 1/4 cup water
1 each egg
4 cup butter, or marg, melted this must
1 cup chocolate chunks
1 cup chopped nuts


Directions

Mix dry and wet ingreds separately. Combine--will be lumpy. Stir in
chunks and nuts.

Bake in lined muffin cups 25-30 mins, until toothpick test passes, and
mufins are browned.

For the centuries that followed, the upper classes competed to offer the most extravagent banquests, and consequentially chefs and their recipes were greatly in demand. However, it wasn`t until the nineteenth century that haute cuisine and recipe publications really came of age. Mrs Isabella Beeton in the UK, and the equally famous Fannie Farmer in the USA, devoted their lives to collating, testing, and writing down popular recipes of the day.

The introduction of the TV gave us TV cookery programs and the demand for the spin-off recipe books.
