Chocolate Sauce Fudgy Recipe

Ingredients

6 oz semisweet chocolate
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup half and half or cream
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract


Directions

Coarsely chop the chocolate, then melt it over hot water in the top
of a doubler boiler along with the syrup. Mix well, and add
half-and-half. Blend well, and stir in the butter. Remove pan from
heat and add vanilla and mix.

Serve warm or allow to cool and refrigerate.

Makes about 1 1/2 cups

Mrs Isabella Beeton in the UK, and the equally well-known Fannie Farmer in the USA, dedicated years of their lives to collating, trying out, and recording recipes of the day.

The introduction of television brings us celebrity chefs and the demand for the spin-off recipe books.
