2 cup cream-filled cookies *
6 tbsp margarine, softened
1 each env. unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
8 oz cream cheese softened
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk
1 cup whipping cream, whipped
1 1/4 cup creme-filled cookies **

Even so, it wasn`t until the 19th century that haute cuisine and recipe books really came of age. The Famous Mrs Isabella Beeton in the UK, and the equally well-known Fannie Farmer in the USA, devoted much of their lives to collecting, trying out, and recording the recipes of their peers.

The arrival of television brings us TV cookery programs and the accompanying recipe books.
