The History of Recipes
It is possible to trace the history of `recipes` back into distant history, in truth as far back into recorded history as the Egyptians, and maybe further still. Having said that, in the main part, these early recipes were just very basic hieroglyphic or cunieform instructions for food preparation.
Later, there are a couple of interesting cookery books from the 14th Century ; one book titled `Forme of Cury`, and another titled `Curye on Inglish`. Perhaps surprisingly, these are not about the spicy food that appears on menues today, but instead accounts of the types of food on the menues of the nobility of the time. Later, in the fifteenth century, knights returning from the crusades brought us many new foods, spices and herbs from the holy land, including rosemary and coriander. These new foods and spices prompted a torrent in books on cooking, some of which are kept safe in private cookery archives. The arrival of television brought us celebrity chefs and the spin-off recipe books. And that neatly brings us to the present day and the invention of the internet, allowing us all to search through massive numbers of recipes like those on this site. |
We hope you enjoy this Kaluha Make Your Own!! recipe.
