Russian Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup yogurt
1 egg
1 tbsp butter -- softened
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda


Directions

Mix yogurt, egg and butter. Combine flour and baking soda and stir
into= yogurt mixture. Cook on hot, lightly buttered griddle until
golden. Makes 4= pancakes. Serve these unusual 'cakes with a dollop
of sour cream or yogurt= garnish with fresh berries.

The History of Recipes

He also recounts how the ancient Romans used a wide range of aromatic flavours, including a few that will be familiar to modern cooks like bay, mint and parsley.

Later on in the 1400s, knights returning from the crusades brought back many foods and herbs from Arab cooking, including coriander, basil and rosemary. These new culinary innovations was responsible for an outbreak in cookery books, most of which are now in private collections.

The introduction of the TV brings us cooking programs and the demand for the accompanying recipe books.
