Almond Joy Cake Recipe


Ingredients


PATTI VDRJ67A

1 package devil's food cake mix
24 large marshmallows
14 oz coconut
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup almonds, chopped


Directions

Make chocolate cake according to package directions in 2 round pans.
Make favorite chocolate frosting for cake. While cake is cooling, heat
evaporated milk, sugar and marshmallows in a very large pan to avoid
spilling over. When marshmallows are melted, add coconut and almonds.
Spread this on top of the bottom cake layer. Top with other cake
layer and frost with chocolate frosting.

The Famous Mrs Isabella Beeton in the UK, and the equally famous Fannie Farmer in the USA, devoted much of their lives to assembling, testing, and publishing recipes that were common in the better off homes of the day.

By the time we get to the 1900s, recipe books were in great demand, as a result of increased literacy, leisure time and having more money.
