Ingredients

1/4 cup roasted almonds
2 strip crisp fried bacon
1 cup grated american cheese
1 tbsp chopped green onion
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 tsp salt


Directions

CHOP ALMONDS VERY FINE. CRUMBLE BACON TO FINE TEXTURE. MIX ALL
INGREDIENTS UNTIL WELL BLENDED. PLACE IN SMALL SERVING DISH.

For the decades that followed, the upper-class families of Europe tried to offer the most extravagent banquests, and as a consequence, cooks and their recipe collections could command a high salary. However, it was during the 1800s that fine cooking and recipe books became really popular. The Famous Mrs Beeton in the UK, and the equally well-known Fannie Farmer in the USA, devoted much of their lives to assembling, trying out, and writing down recipes of the day.

The arrival of television brings us celebrity TV chefs and the demand for the spin-off recipe books.
