Ingredients
3 lb beef rump roast
3 tbsp flour
15 oz tomato sauce
1/2 cup onions-chopped
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp beef instant bouillon
1 1/2 tsp chili powder
1 cl garlic, chopped fine
1 tsp dry mustard
1 hamburger buns
Directions
Rub flour into roast. Place in bottom of crockpot and add remaining
ingredients, except buns. Cook on low for about 14-16 hours. Serve
over buns.

The History of Recipes
It is possible to read the history of written recipes way back into distant history, in fact as far into history as early Egypt, and possibly even further. Interesting though that is, in the main part, these old cook books were just basic pictorial instructions for food preparation.
Later, there were some books which appeared in the 1300s : a recipe book titled `Forme of Cury`, and another, similary titled `Curye on Inglish`. The titles are somewhat misleading tho`, these two books have no connection with the spicy food that is familiar to us all today, but instead accounts of the types of food prepared by the chefs of the upper classes of those days. By the time we get to the 1900s, cookery publications were greatly in demand mostly as a result of better eduction, increased leisure time and being a little richer. |
