Ingredients
16 oz can crushed pineapple, drained
1/2 cup honey
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 dash cinnamon (to taste)
Directions
Many thanks to Laurie from Virginia. Laurie sent me a recipe for
cinnamon-pineapple sauce that I made the other day. It was
incredible... even better than the one I had at that restaurant...
and VERY EASY!
Combine ingredients in 2 qt. saucepan. Cook over medium high heat,
stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened and heated through,
about 3 ~ 5 minutes. I used this sauce for dipping chicken nuggets
into.
Thanks again, Laurie!!!

The History of Recipes
Written cooking instructions as a concept can be traced way back into distant history, at least as far as the Egypt of the Pharoahs, and maybe further still. Interesting though that maybe, in the main part, these early cookbooks were just primitive pictorial, hieroglyphic or cunieform recipes for meal preparation.
As our culinary historical trip moves to more modern times there were two interesting books published in the 14th Century : one book published under the title `Forme of Cury`, and another, similary entitled `Curye on Inglish`. Although the titles sound familiar, these books are nothing to do with the indian curry that we all know today, but rather recipes for the types of meals prepared by the chefs of the upper classes. In the 15th century, knights returning from the crusades brought back many foods and spices from Arab countries, including parsley, basil and rosemary. These new spices and herbs caused a surge in books on cookery, most of which are now in private libraries. The arrival of TV brings us cooking programs and the demand for the spin-off recipe books. Which brings us neatly to the present day and the invention of the internet, allowing us all to search through thousands of recipes such as those found on sites such as this. |
We hope you enjoy this Cinnamon Pineapple Scampi Sauce recipe.
