The History of Recipes
Experts have tracked the existence of recipes way back into distant history, certainly as far back into history as the Egyptians, and quite possibly further than that. However, sadly, these old records were just very basic hieroglyphic recipes for meal preparation.
As our culinary historical trip moves to more modern times there were a couple of recipe books from the fourteenth century ; a recipe book called `Forme of Cury`, and another named `Curye on Inglish`. Surprisingly, these two books are not about the indian food that appears on menues today, but rather recipes for the types of meals on the menues of the rich people of those days. In the 15th century, knights returning from the crusades brought back a variety of foods, spices and herbs from the holy land, including rosemary and coriander. These new herbs and spices created an increase in recipe publications, some of which still exist in private collections. The introduction of television brings us TV cooks and the spin-off recipe books. And that brings us to the present day and the invention of computers and the internet, permitting everyone to search through massive numbers of recipes such as those found on this site. |
We hope you enjoy this Chicken Pieces With Lime recipe.
