Ingredients
2 tbsp sesame seed oil
2 tbsp olive oil
1 lb green or purple mustard
1 . greens, washed, dried &
1 . cut into strips
1 tbsp garlic, minced
1 tbsp chili pepper, minced
1 tbsp ginger, minced
2 tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp sugar
1 salt & black pepper to taste
Directions
1. In a large saute pan, combine sesame and olive oils, and place
over high heat until hot but not smoking.
2. Add the greens, and stir vigorously for I minute, or until they
have changed to a bright green color.
3. Add garlic, chili and ginger, and continue to cook, stirring
constantly, for 30 seconds. Add vinegar and sugar, remove from heat
and stir to combine. Season to taste with salt and pepper, and serve
at once.
Yield: 4 servings.

The History of Recipes

Additionally, he describes how the cooks of Roman times made use of many herbs and spices, including many that are still in use today like bay, rue and dill. Later, in the fifteenth century, knights returning from the crusades brought us a variety of foods, spices and herbs from the holy land, including spices such as basil and rosemary. The introduction of these new culinary ideas caused an outbreak in manuscripts on food, many of which are now in academic collections. The revolution that is television brings us TV cooks and the spin-off recipe books. Which brings us neatly to the present day and the invention of computers and the internet, allowing everybody to search through thousands of recipes like the ones you can find on our web site. |
