* Chocolate chip cookies with honey and brown sugar.

enough to eat, and store the batter in the fridge.
* You can substitute margarine for the butter if you want.
: Difficulty: easy, though creaming butter and sugar without a food
processor is tedious.
: Time: 10 minutes preparation, 10 minutes cooking and cooling.
: Precision: measure the ingredients.

The History of Recipes
Historians have traced the existance of recipes far back into the far past, in truth as far into history as pharonic Egypt, and possibly even further than that. Interesting though that maybe, sadly, these ancient cook books were just very basic pictorial recipes for food preparation.
As our culinary historical trip moves on a few more years we find two interesting recipe books which were published in the 14th Century ; a cookery book entitled `Forme of Cury`, and another entitled `Curye on Inglish`. Amusingly, these two books are nothing to do with the indian food that we all know today, but instead descriptions of the types of meals prepared by the cooks of the nobility of that period. By the arrival of the 20th century, cookbooks were starting to become popular mostly as a result of better eduction, people having more free time and having more disposable income. |
