Ingredients

2 egg whites
3 package sweet and low
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup alba chocolate dry skim milk


Directions

Beat whites stiff gradually adding sweetener and vanilla. Carefully
fold in ( dry ) milk. Drop by teaspoonful onto nonstick baking sheet.

The History of Recipes

As our culinary historical trip moves on a few more years we have a couple of interesting books from the 14th Century : one book called `Forme of Cury`, and another, similary called `Curye on Inglish`. Despite their titles, these two books have no connection with the curry that we all know today, but rather descriptions of the types of meals eaten by the rich and powerful of those days.

Over the following few hundred years, the rich families of Wesstern Europe competed with each other to serve up the best banquets, and as a result the best cooks and their collection of recipes were highly sought after. However, it was during the 19th century that cooking and cookery books really came of age. The Famous Mrs Isabella Beeton in the UK, and the equally well-known Fannie Farmer in the US, dedicated their lives to collecting, testing, and writing down popular recipes of the day.

By the arrival of the 20th century, cooking publications are in high demand, due to increased literacy, people having more spare time and being a little richer.
