The History of Recipes
We are able to follow the history of meal recipes back into distant history, in fact as far into history as the ancient Egyptians, and possibly even further than that. Interesting though that is, generally, these old recipes were just primitive hieroglyphic or cunieform recipes for meal preparation.
As we move on, we have some books dating from the 14th Century : one book published under the title `Forme of Cury`, and another, similary called `Curye on Inglish`. Despite their titles, these books have no connection with the indian food that appears on menues today, but rather recipes for the types of food prepared by the chefs of the rich and wealthy people of those days. By the time we get to the 1900s, recipe books were greatly in demand mostly due to increased literacy, more free time and having more money. |
We hope you enjoy this Pepper Wine recipe.
