Apple and Marzipan Tart
This French tart is perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
Ingredients
- 3 dessert apples
- 75g butter, plus extra for greasing
- flour, for dusting
- 230g pre-made puff pastry
- 1 tbsp icing sugar
- 100g white marzipan, sliced thinly
- 75g caster sugar
- 100ml double cream
- vanilla ice cream, to serve
You’ll also need:
- Stellar James Martin Bakers Dozen 38cm Baking Sheet
Method

Core and thinly slice the apples. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/ Gas 6. Lightly grease the Stellar 38cm baking sheet. Next, lightly flour the work surface and roll out the puff pastry to make a large rectangle. Place the pastry on the baking sheet and prick all over with a fork. Dust with icing sugar.

Spread the marzipan over the base. Cover with apple slices and bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.

In a medium sized pan, melt the caster sugar, cream and butter together and simmer for about three minutes, until golden. Serve the tart with the sauce and vanilla ice cream.
